Needs a Laser Pointer!
Laser pointer! When sharing a whiteboard, the other members can't see my mouse pointer, so it would be great to have a way to point to things you've drawn or written on the whiteboard without having to physically draw, then erase.

It would be an awesome addition to Whiteboard! Today, I have no choice but to circle or draw arrows on the part of the drawing I want to highlight... and that's very, very cumbersome.

Same here. When using a drawing tablet, video capture doesn't record the cursor when I'm just wanting to point at things with a stylus pen. Have to grab the mouse to move the cursor. If there was a laser pointer, I think video capture would pick that up. Have tried xbox screen recorder and Bandicam - both fail to record the cursor if its being driven by a stylus pen.

PointerFocus for Windows is shareware that helps get around this problem, if you’re sharing Whiteboard via Zoom or other screen capture software. But, agreed, Whiteboard NEEDS laser pointer. If there were an indication of who is controlling it, that would need to be user toggleable, or vanish after a second or two, since otherwise it is visually going to be disruptive, I think.

For those with a wacom pen, a workaround might be the upper button pressed while showing. Invokes the select fuction whith a thick white sircle which seems like laser pointer.

Hi! Exactly the reason, why I opened the feedback page. Absolutely mandatory for discussions and explanations. I'm surprised that this function is not yet included after more than half a year and the top rating in the feedback list.

It´s a basic function. Our whole team is wating for that!
Otherwise how to discuss details on the board without pointing??? -

Implementing something like what Google Jamboard has would be useful. Does not need to show user, especially if it's just the teacher showing his own presentation. Also more useful if board is being used as a presentation which depends on having multiple slides which MS Whiteboard does not yet currently have, but very much could use.

The laser pointer needs to show which user is shining it too. When I see a laser pointer dot, it needs to be evident to me which user is indicating that dot.

Sure that's what we want!

Agreed, and the laser should be available for the pen when it's hovering so the students can see where the pen is about to write.
Currently I use MS Whiteboard with Zoom and have the Zoom annotation pointer on my mouse cursor which works, but it would be better if I could have it on the pen as well.

I use whiteboard in my chemistry lessons and after I have drawn something, I often want to refer back to it in the video conference. At the moment I'm just using the highlighter, but then I have to remove the highlighting afterwards. A laser pointer would do the job perfectly (like the one in the Zoom whiteboard).

I think the whiteboard should allow participants' mouse cursor to be seen by others, then it can be used as a pointer, just like the Miro web board. Agreeing with NG Chin Keong comment below.

Totally agree, I have been using MS Whiteboard for my Maths lessons and I often use the cursor to point out what I'm talking about, just did a video and I thought it was recording the cursor but it didn't, so it is a bit out of sync with my comments, so a laser pointer would be a great idea.
