Introduce layers to quickly lock/show/hide parts of your drawing
It would be useful to have a feature that allows a user to add multiple layers in their drawing. You could start drawing something in one color, add a layer and draw something in another color.
Afterwards, when you're showing or erasing something, you can lock or hide a layer. Just like any modern image editing tool.

such a useful feature that should be implmented. I was hoping since Paint 3D doesn't have the layers function, hopefully, thee whiteboard application does. Unfortunately I was wrong and disappointed because this is such a commonly needed tool.

Ability to snap content across layers. I like to layer up drawings like old overhead projector transparencies.

Something simple like being able to lock any imported background to protect it from erasure (even canvas clearing) would be helpful.

We desperately need something like this! The ability to "lock" parts of the whiteboard is especially essential.
I would love to be able to lock text within shapes (thought bubbles, etc.) and then be able to move that around on the white board as needed.
Would hugely improve functionality!

Yes! This would actually solve a couple other suggestions such as putting each person on their own layer.
If there was a basic layer system like any other drawing / image editing app, people could work this out themselves.

If whiteboard is used in a collaboration with coworkers it would be great indeed. As long as people working in the same whiteboard can choose which layer they want to draw or write in.

I'm really surprised this feature isn't there already. Layers are so powerful and they open up so many options for presentation and design.

This is really needed, especially when doing designs of any type together
