I want to sign in without an Authenticator
I want to sign in without an Microsoft Authenticator.
Microsoft Authenticator must be installed when using conditional access.
But conditional access only sets up phone authentication.
I can't explain to users why they need Microsoft Authenticator.
In addition, Teams and Outlook have phone authentication set by conditional access, but can be used without Microsoft Authenticator.

We're trying to use Whiteboard in a school environment. Help me explain to teachers and students why they need to sign into another app in order to use the app they really want to use. Oh yeah, Kinder and 1st graders have no idea what their login credentials are. They just want to open the app and start creating! Sign-in should be optional and be native to the app, not via Authenticator. - Like it used to be...
Why does Whiteboard need the Authenticator on the iPad (in my case)? The (Microsoft) Authenticator works fine on my iPhone with work and personal accounts. Installing it on my iPad warns it will delete all the accounts from my iPhone authenticator. This needs more thought, as there is no option to sign in another way e.g. using the text message or phone call. All the reviews on the App store show 1 star with this being the show stopper.

We use Okta and do not want to use Authenticator, it should not be required when no other app we manage with MAM requires it so far, and thats 58 micorosft apps. Please be consistent.
Whiteboard requiring Authenticaor, whereas other apps do not, is not a consistent message and experience for our enterprise customers. I have a S500 retail customer questioning this.
