Performance issues & crash
The app becomes very slow and unresponsive when the whiteboard is large, and ultimately crashes after drawing a few additional lines.
iPad Pro 11” (2018) with Apple Pencil (2. generation)
If this keeps causing my laptop to freeze, is it damaging my actual comp itself? Because like many here, I also really love and rely on this app. I hope this can be resolved. But I am also relieved it's not my computer.
Constant crashing. Using iPad Pro 2020 12.9 iOS 14.1
Love this app but is near unbearable
The whiteboard app freezes shortly after using it. The whole system freezes and the only thing I can do is restart my computer by force. This is very inconvenient.
i've used the WB app for 2 days for review a course and writing notes and it keeps freezing and I thought connectivity issue, but now it is freezing & not working and I can't retrieve the data..
nice features but bad performance
* i'm using ipad pro
It’s September 2020 and this web app is still unusable on a brand new mate book 15.
But also now auto save is not on so I lose hours of work.

Good afternoon, as I've seen reported on this page, the ms whiteboard app freezes when I'm presenting it using it during online classes (google meet). It makes the system unresponsive but people in the class call can still see me and hear me and can talk to me. Nothing enables the screen to unfreeze and I am forced to restart my computer and the class. At least the work is saved up to the point of the restart but this is very inconvenient.
My computer is very new (Huawei matebook p14) and this problem never occurred with my older laptop, a Lenovo from 2015. I assume that the app may have problems working with newer laptops.
I would appreciate the resolution of this bug since the MS whiteboard is an excellent tool.
Please fix this important issue.
The app insidiously stops, goes unresponsive.. it’s really unbearable. Work on it.
My best 🙂

Using iPad Pro with Apple Pencil 1st gen and the lag is unbearable. Trying to take notes in a uni class and keep pace when after a couple of lines the response is falling way behind and have to pause for the content to catch up. Both pencil and iPad are fully charged.
Hi, facing the same issues...how can fix it?

I usually load up PDF files into the app and then annotate the PDFs.
I'm the only one logged into the app when the error takes place.

It is not usable on an iPad Pro 2020. The performance of the app is very bad, can’t use this in any serious way. Even the Miro app is faster.
I wish I could vote more on this - it's been over a year I've been begging the devs to fix this app in the app store. It's unusable for any serious level of work. I need to use this app. I want to use this app. It's a well designed app for my purposes. Its integrated with Teams. Please just stop snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!
As it is I'm being pushed to use Concepts - Way more complex than I need.
2019 iPad Pro 12.9 with pencil 2.
I noticed that the only way to keep Whiteboard performing well is by running on GPU, it never lags nor crashes since being on GPU. In your Surface 7 Pro you have a GPU called Intel Iris Plus, so make the whiteboard app works on GPU, using the following steps: Settings ==》Graphics Settings ==》 Choose an App to set preference >> Universal App ==》 Select an App >> Microsoft Whiteboard ==》 Add ==》 Options ==》 High Performance ==》 save. If it worked well you may wish to give us an update.
Whiteboard app crashes such that only a hard reboot solves the issue. Everything freezes on the surface pro 7 (brandnew)!! This happens during meetings on MS teams. Teams itself continues to work, but the surface doesn't respond to any commands. So I have to restart the meeting on teams. Really frustrating!
This issue started after an update maybe a week ago.
It seems to crash when I get close to the border of the whiteboard with the pen.
@Microsoft: Time to investigate that bug.
Plus: yes, it is terribly laggy.
I have enabled MS Whiteboard to run on nVidia GPU Quadro 5000, and its performing very well with no lags at tool. I hope this is your solution. To enable GPU for Whiteboard ==》Settings ==》Graphics Settings ==》 Choose an App to set preference >> Universal App ==》 Select an App >> Microsoft Whiteboard ==》 Add ==》 Options ==》 High Performance ==》 save
MS Whiteboard is great software, except its lags. As alternative I also use Autodesk SketchBook which is a free software to download it has all pen and shapes capabilities more than whiteboard and Text writing also. Good luck.
Can microsoft please fix this issue? This is the best app of its kind that I have found and I cant be without it but PLEASE make it a smoother and less frustrating experience and it will become essential in all schools and workplaces.

God I love this app and it's become such a CRITICAL piece of me functioning now that I can't collaborate in person.
Crashing pretty consistently (especially when zooming in/out) on my iPad Pro 11".
Same issue. There's a lot of posting here and no reply from Microsoft?
My whiteboard is crashing and becoming unresponsive within two minutes after I sign in. It is impossible to do anything. I am trying to finish the sketch I started and initially it was all perfect. Now all of a sudden it just freezes and becomes unresponsive to the wacom pen pad or even my laptop sensor. I really wanted to use this. I am not sure if it is because of adding shading and more details on an enlarged level. I wouldn't have stated my whole sketch on this rediculous app if I knew this is going to happen.
